Persecution and Justice - Revelation
Read the summary of the Sunday sermon: God does not promise our lives as Christians will be easy. In Revelation 10-11, we see the persecution of the two witnesses, and how God uses them to change people's hearts. We are reminded of God's justice, through persecution and trial.

Has there ever been a time where you were met with opposition in speaking about the gospel? What was that experience like for you?
In Revelation 10, John is given a scroll to eat that tastes sweet but ends up being bitter to him. What do you think this says about the reality of suffering in our mission as Christians?
What do the two witnesses in Revelation 11 teach us about bold, prophetic testimony?
In Rev. 11:11-12, the two witnesses that were killed are raised from the dead and called up into heaven by God. How does the hope of our future resurrection sustain public testimony, even when things are hard?
Is there a situation in your life where God is asking you to speak the gospel, even if it may be costly to you?
How does the declaration of Jesus’ victory over the kingdoms of the world in Revelation 11:15 give hope to believers who experience persecution?
What is your initial reaction to the image of God’s future judgement in this passage?
How can we learn to see God’s justice as a source of hope for us?
Prayer: Look up the name of a country where Christians are persecuted. Take some time to pray for Christians in that country, and ask that God would give them boldness to continue to advance the mission of Jesus by the power of the Spirit.
