Prayers in the Night - Mark
What was causing Jesus’ sorrow and distress? (verses 33-34) Consider 2 Corinthians 5:21 and Hebrews 5:7-8.
How do you view sin in your life? Does your sin ever fill you with sorrow? Why or why not? Consider this quote from Ironside along with your answer to the first question: “His holy soul shrank from the awfulness of being made sin upon the tree. It was not death, but the divine anger against sin, the imputation to Him of all our iniquities that filled His soul with horror. There was no conflict of wills.”
Why was Jesus concerned that the disciples “watch and pray”? Was it for their needs or his? (verses 34-42)
As the body of Christ, should we be concerned with one another’s sin? What scriptures speak about this?
What can we do practically to help one another “watch and pray” so that we won’t enter into temptation?
