In The Beginning God - Genesis

  1. If you’ve ever studied the Bible before, did you only study one section at a time or did you begin in Genesis and follow through to the end?

  2. Why did God choose to include the creation account in the scriptures? Consider Psalm 19:1-4, Romans 1:20, and 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

  3. What aspects of God’s character are evident in the things he created?

  4. List the things that God did for Adam and Eve. What do those things tell you about God’s feelings towards them?

  5. Why did God choose to create the heavens and the earth? Find evidence in scripture to support your answer.

  6. Genesis 1 tells us that God created by speaking, but it doesn’t go into further details. Why do you think God decided not to tell us more about the whole creation process? What are some theories you’ve heard about the details and timing of creation?

  7. How should recognizing God as creator of the heavens and the earth affect our perspective on life and all that we experience daily?
